Bawa is one of the classic lonely Indonesia right handers. It's located in the very remote and isolated Hinako Islands, just off Nias. The island has been known for its malarial outbreaks, so staying on the land is not a good idea.
The wave at Bawa can handle some very solid size and is rarely flat. It breaks as a shifting peak that grinds into an inside barrel section. However the wave changed a bit since the 2004 earthquake. Now it breaks a lot shiftier.
