Once upon a time Serangan was a peaceful, secluded island accessible only by boat. While still beautiful it is now connected to the mainland and is a lot busier. At the end of the road there are some warungs offering snacks, drinks and massages.
Serangan, also known as Turtle Island, is a great spot to surf in the rainy season. There is almost always a rideable wave. It breaks on any tide and has a few distinct peaks, which spreads the crowd out a bit. The waves break along an offshore reef in a mixture of punchy rights and lefts, kind of reminiscent of a beach break. However, with a big swell, Serangan turns into a huge, barrelling right-hander.
