Tikehau is a stunningly tranquil coral atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia, that means Peaceful Landing in the local Tuamotuan language. It is located 340km northeast of Tahiti, next to the atoll of Rangiroa, only 12 km away. Tikehau consists of small reef fringed islands surrounding an oval shaped lagoon. It is filled with hidden bay and forgotten corners exquisitely crafted from pink and white sands, all surrounded by a protective coral barrier.
Tikehau has only one pass through its reef which is home to not only an extraordinary abundance of fish but also some fantastic waves that are surfable anywhere from two to eight feet. The lagoon inside is as blue as any in French Polynesia with a magnetism of incredible diving and the ability to swim with manta rays.
