Ala Moana

Possibly the South Shore's most premier wave and when it's on, one of the best in Hawaii. Due to this fact Ala Moana will also be one of the most competitive. The wave is an exposed reef that benefited from dredging of a nearby channel in the 1950's. It is a long left with a few different hollow sections. However Ala Moana is at its best in a South swell when it's focused on the initial bowl section. Offshore in a North-easterly, so the summer months are perfect for it.
