Piha

Situated Northwest of Auckland, Piha is a black sand beach separated by a giant chunk of earth called Lion Rock. This coast is rarely starved of swell. Piha generates some good left and rights off the rock, with a reliable is left-hander in the very South corner.

The drive down the winding road is spectacular and is a great vantage point to scope out the best peaks. It is best around three to six foot, as a strong current starts to form when it get s any bigger.
